El Camino Seguro at Burlington Street

El Camino Seguro at Burlington Street is the first phase of connecting the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy Burlington campus through community-led urban design and public art projects.

The Westlake-based Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is kicking off investments to enhance the connection between their Elementary and Middle Schools at their Burlington Campus.

With the support of coLAB, the near-term investments will include projects that improve the sidewalk dynamics surrounding the school to ensure a more safe, inclusive public space for all. coLAB will lead a community engagement process with the CNCA students, their families, and the school staff to ensure the community is directly involved in designing and implementing these projects.

Community engagement workshops will begin in September 2021, and with the support from coLAB architects and other consultants, the physical improvements to the sidewalk and new public art will commence in late 2021.
